Donald Trump’s campaign says it has raised $7.1 million since the former president was jailed in Atlanta on Thursday in connection with a Georgia election tampering case.
Trump’s fundraising totals are close to $20 million in the past three weeks since he surrendered at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia after he was indicted in Washington on a federal Jan. 6 case, a Trump campaign official said.
On Friday, the day after his arrest in Georgia, Trump raised $4.18 million, his biggest day of the entire campaign.

Following Trump’s arrest, his campaign immediately began selling merchandise featuring a mug shot of the former president. According to the source, the sale has contributed to a higher fundraising amount.
Trump’s legal troubles have escalated in recent weeks, with prosecutors bringing two charges related to his efforts to alter the results of the 2020 election.
Earlier this month, special counsel Jack Smith filed four federal indictments against the former president. The indictment alleges that Trump was “determined to remain in power” and, along with his associates, hatched a conspiracy to reverse the decisions that led to the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Trump pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to obstruct official proceedings.
Last week, Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis filed 41 indictments against Trump and 18 co-defendants, including his former personal attorney and New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. The charges include violations of the state’s anti-fraud law and say the defendants acted as an “enterprise” to change the state’s election results.
While Trump has yet to be arraigned in the Georgia case, he was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Thursday and appeared prime time to be released on bond. Trump’s advisers said they were thrilled by the news in the media on Thursday, and the former president immediately began fundraising for his arrest.
Trump returned to the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, for the first time since January 2021 to share a fundraising note.
“I enter the lion’s den with a simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I will never surrender our mission to save America,” Trump wrote Thursday. He asked his supporters to make campaign contributions to “oust” President Joe Biden “during this dark chapter in our nation’s history.”
