Anthony Mackie stops the Red Hulk

The hat is back!

Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for “Captain America: Brave New World,” the fourth Captain America movie and the first to star Anthony Mackie’s flying superhero Sam Wilson, formerly known as Cap’s sidekick The Falcon.

Mackie took over the Cap mantle from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, who famously played him in the previous three “Captain America” movies and four “Avengers” movies. At the end of 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” Steve says goodbye to his fellow superheroes and goes back to start a new life with his beloved Peggy Carter. He gives his iconic vibranium shield to Sam, who vows to do right by the world-renowned hero.

In the new trailer, Sam Harrison Ford is greeted by American leader Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who wants to turn Captain America into an American agent. The action quickly heats up as the superhero stops an assassin in the White House. The trailer ends with a quick look at a new character, the Red Hulk, another gamma-radiating monster who is the alter ego of “Thunderbolt” Ross in Marvel Comics. It’s unclear if the fourth “Captain America” movie will follow the same storyline as the comics.

Marvel fans first saw Sam Suit as Cap in the Disney+ TV series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Sebastian teams up with Stan’s antihero Bucky Barnes, Sam, also known as the Winter Soldier, to take down a group of terrorists. In addition to five Emmy nominations, the show received praise from fans and critics alike.
