Georgia waived safety David Daniel-Chisavanh from the team

Georgia announced Tuesday that safety David Daniel-Chisavan is out of the team because of a violation of team rules.

“We wish David the best in his next step,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said in a statement released by the school.

Last week, it was reported that Daniel-Sisavan was charged with reckless driving after a 2021 BMW M340i he drove south on the Downtown Connector in Atlanta. Georgia Department of Public Safety Report.

Daniel-Sisavan signed as a member of Georgia’s 2021 recruiting class. He played in 10 games for Georgia last season, making one start against South Carolina. He had 10 tackles and one pass breakup on the season.

Georgia signed four defensive backs in the 2024 recruiting class, though only freshman KJ Bolton is expected to play safety. Georgia brought in Alabama transfer Jake Pope and Oregon transfer Collin Gill.

The Bulldogs must replace Javon Bullard and Tykie Smith at safety and star, respectively. Jonel Aguero and Zagori Thomas are expected to compete for the star opening, while Don Jackson, Pope and Bolton will compete at safety to replace Bullard. The Bulldogs bring back All-American Malachi Starks.

Georgia has confirmed that offensive lineman Kelton Smith will no longer play football as he is medically retired. Smith will remain on scholarship and help the team in a different capacity.

“This is never an easy transition for a player, and we pledge to stick with Kelton and give him the support he needs during this period,” Smart said. “Losing someone of Kelton’s caliber is tough, but we look forward to him being an integral part of our program.”
