NBC’s “The Voice.”
Asher Havon is the champion the voice 2024.
Alabama native Selma is at the top of her class in the All-Star finale on Tuesday night (May 21) in this 25th season of NBC’s singing competition.
Following Monday night’s performances of Whitney Houston’s “I’ll Always Love You,” Tuesday’s finale included Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” and Patti LaBelle’s “One of My Own,” a duet with her coach Reba McKenzie in Havon. Team Reba) stood as the last contestant. She finished in the top 5 ahead of Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay 5th), Nathan Chester (Team Legend 4th), Brian Oleson (Team Legend 3rd) and Josh Saunders (Team Reba second).
Before his name was called, Havon paid tribute to McEntire for his support and guidance. “Oh my god, it means the world to me,” he remarked. “Thank you—thank you for giving me such a safe space to be my artistic self—thank you for believing in me. I promise I will never let you down. McEntire finishes the season with a rare 1-2.
HaVon, 31, impressed all season with her powerful, honeyed voice, talent and big-game instincts.
Along the way, he delivered a commanding performance of Sia and David Guetta’s “Titanium” during the playoffs, to which Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney enthused, “That felt like a Grammy moment for you, man.”
John Legend compared the effort to a religious experience. “Something about you reminds me of Whitney Houston. She’ll take these songs that weren’t written for a soul singer and have that restrained and political presence in the sound, but throw in a dope flow that you hear in church,” Legend said. “In church, we save the interpretation for certain roles, We say they are anointed. I just felt that anointing on you. It was divine.” Legend would be wiser now; he was the only coach who didn’t turn up during Hawon’s blind audition.
HaVon’s resume includes a spot singing for Barack Obama at the former POTUS’ hometown civil rights memorial, and now it’s gone bad. the voice 2024.
Both nights were joined by an all-star cast the voice Finale including Keith Urban (Monday), The Black Keys, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and Kate Hudson (all performing on Tuesday’s episode).
